How to Compress Nectar Mattress

Unfortunately, it’s not recommended to compress a Nectar mattress at home using the roll-and-compress methods commonly used for some all-foam mattresses. Here’s why, and what to do instead:

  • Explain the issue: Nectar mattresses have a multi-layer construction that makes them unsuitable for vacuum-seal compression. Attempting this could permanently damage the internal foams and void your warranty.
  • Tease the solution: There are still safe ways to minimize a Nectar mattress’ footprint for easier transportation or storage.

Why Compressing a Nectar Mattress is Not Advisable

  • Hybrid Construction: While Nectar mattresses have foam layers, they likely also contain coils or other support materials that shouldn’t be forcefully compressed.
  • Damage Potential: Excessive compression could bend or damage internal components, compromising the mattress’s support, comfort, and overall lifespan.
  • Warranty Concerns: Attempting to compress your Nectar mattress could potentially void your warranty.

Alternatives for Moving or Storing Your Nectar Mattress

  • Transport as Is:

    • If possible, use a larger vehicle, or roof racks (with secure straps), or hire movers to handle the uncompressed mattress.
  • Upright Storage:

    • For short-term storage, lean the mattress vertically, ensuring appropriate support to prevent bending or warping.
  • Protective Covering:

    • Regardless of how you move or store it, use a mattress bag or wrap the mattress in plastic to protect it from dust, spills, or damage.

Important Note

  • Manufacturer’s Instructions: Always refer to the Nectar website or your mattress’s included guidelines for their specific recommendations on transportation and storage.

  • While Nectar mattresses can’t be easily compressed, there are still ways to manage them safely during transport or storage.
  • Prioritize the integrity of your Nectar mattress by avoiding compression and choosing methods designed for its construction.
  • Remind users to always check Nectar’s official instructions and prioritize protecting their mattress investment.
